IMPACT FARMING: Photograpy + Design

Hugh Locke, executive director of Impact Farming, commissioned A.F. Cortés to design the book cover for “The Haiti Experiment.” This is his fascinating 10-year experiment with Hip Hop musician Wyclef Jean’s aim to restore, reforest and rebuild Haiti.


 Impact Farming in collaboration with Timberland are working  in a project for the reforestation of Haiti. Together they create scalable agricultural innovations that connect smallholder farmers with better seeds, tools and training, along with access to markets, credit, and other services. We were invited to document  the ongoing reforestation efforts in the town of Gonaïves at the north of the island. Our goal was to capture and tell the story of a positive and brave  country that is reinventing itself.
